Friday marked World Frog Day.

Some Connecticut organizations teamed up to mark it with FrogWatch, a national program.

The program invites residents to become citizen-scientist volunteers.

These volunteers visit and observe frogs and toads in local wetlands. Findings are entered into a national database.

These actions help conservation efforts.

Connecticut's FrogWatch is in collaboration with Beardsley Zoo, Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History and the Maritime Aquarium.

Beardsley Zoo is hosting an event to learn more about frogs and FrogWatch tomorrow at 1 p.m. in the Kathy Brady Education Center.
