With the coldest weather of the year hitting the region this weekend, local experts say there is a lot that can be done to keep the warm air in your home.
Workers for the Santa Fuel Company say most heat escapes from the house through poorly sealed gaps. Some of those gaps can be filled with spray foam or caulking to prevent air from escaping.
Homeowners can also put weather stripping around doors and windows to create a tighter seal.
Santa Fuel says it offers a home energy solutions program where it'll do all the necessary work for residents. The company will hold a session Saturday in Norwalk so residents can learn more about the program.
