Gov. Ned Lamont announced Thursday that the state has
issued a $10,000 fine against Mango'z Sports Bar in Bridgeport for violating
COVID-19 gathering size restrictions.
Officials say Bridgeport police were previously called to
the bar for a report of shots fired on Dec. 20.
The Department of Public Health says it determined that
more than 25 people were inside the bar that night and were operating past the
10 p.m. curfew.
Officials say the bar did not have a liquor permit at the
time, with the last permit expiring on Aug. 9.
