Gov. Ned Lamont announced Monday that Connecticut is the first state in the country to fully vaccinate more than 50% of people over age 18.
He says that almost 1.4 million residents are fully vaccinated and about 69% of all adults have gotten at least one shot.
Lamont says the pace of vaccinations is leveling off and there's more work to do.
He says he had informal discussions with the governors of New York and New Jersey about following Connecticut's lead to lift several restrictions as of May 19.
