Governor Ned Lamont has tested positive for COVID-19, his office announced Thursday.
He is currently on vacation in Colorado.
Lamont's office says he was feeling slightly under the weather and took an at-home COVID test out of an abundance of caution.
In a statement, Julia Bergman, Lamont's chief spokesperson, says along with not being in the office, he has not been in close physical proximity with any staff or state officials.
"He has notified those he recently came into close contact with regarding his test result and he has encouraged them to take tests, as well. He's informed his staff that they can expect him to work remotely for the time being," the statement read.
