Gov. Ned Lamont has been added to the witness list in the corruption trial against one of his former budget deputies.
Kosta Diamantis is accused of taking bribes in exchange for multi-million-dollar school construction contracts.
His trial will begin on Monday in Bridgeport.
Diamantis' attorney, Norm Pattis, had asked to delay the trial due to the government shutdown, but Judge Stefan Underhill said Thursday that he is unlikely to grant the request.
Lamont may have to testify but could ask a judge to exclude him from the trial.
Lamont's spokesperson said they had no comment on Thursday.
