Gov. Ned Lamont said Thursday he is opening to tapping an emergency fund to suspend the state's gas tax.

Drivers would save 25 cents a gallon and diesel truck drivers would save 49 cents.

Lamont would still need state lawmakers to actually suspend the tax.

They remain reluctant to the idea because they say it would give out of state drivers a tax break.
