Gov. Ned Lamont and his family marched up Capitol Avenue to Trinity Street in Hartford Wednesday afternoon, braving the wind and cold, after being sworn in as the state’s 89th governor at the state Armory.
The Inauguration Day Parade ended steps from the Capitol building facing Bushnell Park and featured a National Guard flyover. Bridgeport’s Harding High School marching band performed during the event.
Lamont then made his first State of the State address to a joint session of the Legislature.
The celebration will continue tonight when the Inaugural Ball kicks off at the Connecticut Convention Center. Actor Chris Meloni will act as MC for the event and MSNBC personality Joe Scarborough, who lives in New Canaan, will perform with his band.
