Attendees of a community-sponsored training session in Greenwich received Narcan kits to reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.
About a dozen people attended the event at the Greenwich Library. It was hosted by Silver Hill Hospital, Greenwich Community Health Improvement Partnership and Communities 4 Action.
Event organizers say they hope to raise awareness about the heroin epidemic in the region.
They say it's crucial for those who know someone battling an addiction to have a Narcan kit to potentially save a life in the event of an overdose.
The training session is one of several that will be held throughout Greenwich over the next two months.
