Graduation will come early for one Greenwich High School senior after the school agreed to grant a special wish for his family.
The school is allowing Ferris El-Tayyeb to graduate this Friday so he can share the moment with his father.
Akram El-Tayyeb is nearing the end of his battle with gastro-intestinal cancer. He has already surpassed the six months doctors gave him to live last June.
"I thought I'd at least try and see if I could get the school to work with me so he could at least see one of the boys graduate," says Ferris' mother, Denise. "They said they've never done this before, but they would do whatever they could to help make it happen."
Ferris will put on his cap and gown and get his high school diploma in a special ceremony Friday with close friends and family in attendance.
The El-Tayyebs say they are grateful to the school and say they are focused on making the ceremony a happy occasion.
