The head of Stratford schools addressed students Tuesday after a car crash took the life of a Bunnell High School senior.
Kevonna Edwards, 17, died Friday after the car she was a passenger in crashed into a tree along the southbound Wilbur Cross in Woodbridge. Edwards was the only one of five passengers in the car to die.
School Superintendent Irene Cornish says she's making sure grief counselors are on staff at the school. The Board of Education also made the decision to reschedule some of Tuesday's midterms.
The funeral for Edwards will be held Friday at the Calvary Temple Christian Center. The viewing starts at 9 a.m., the funeral at 11 a.m. The family is asking for donations to help pay for the funeral.
