The Milford area, still recovering from Superstorm Sandy, is bracing for a wintry storm tonight.

A winter storm warning has been posted for parts of Connecticut for this afternoon into tonight. High winds and a mix of snow, sleet and rain could make for a messy and dangerous commute.

Milford saw devastating damage from Sandy and residents are still picking up the pieces.

Milford Fire Department officials say they will begin making reverse 911 calls at 6 p.m., 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Extra crews have not been called in yet, but are on standby if needed.
