Health officials promote flu shots as season starts earlier this year

Health officials are urging the public to get their flu shots because they say it is spreading earlier than usual this season.
Most people have lower immunity now, after two years of masks and social distancing.
Those precautions caused the flu to nearly disappear during that time.
Many people rolled up their sleeves at a clinic in Fairfield Friday at the Bigelow Center for Senior Activities.
Officials say this season all the FDA-approved vaccines protect against four strains of the flu.
