A hearing to figure out how to reinstate Bridgeport's Board of Education ended today without a solution.
The nine-member board was ousted last summer during a state takeover.
Today's meeting was the first since the state Supreme Court ruled the takeover illegal and ordered the removal of a board appointed by Gov. Dannel Malloy and the state Board of Education. Attorney Norm Pattis, who represents the previous board that was elected, says the future of his clients is in the hands of a judge.
People who attended today's hearing say it's likely the judge will be asking the court for more guidance.
Pattis says he disagrees with the delay, as it will give Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch more time to attempt to have the decision overturned.
