The warmest June weather on record is expected. IT will feel like 105 -110F in parts of the state this week.
If you thought yesterday was warm, just wait because it's about to get much hotter for your Monday and Tuesday afternoon. Yesterday was 93F in Bridgeport, CT. This ties the record for the date. Today will also be in the mid 90s, but even more humid & without the cloud cover, the heat will arrive much earlier in the day. Tomorrow will likely be our hottest day in the forecast. Temperatures could approach 100F.
How extreme is the heat?
This will likely be the hottest June heat wave on record for western Connecticut. It will feel like 100F today & tomorrow and temperatures may actually reach 100F on Tuesday (our forecast is 98F). This is the hottest weather we've seen in 5 years, and likely the hottest on record for the month of June. The hottest day on record for the month of June is 97F, which we are expecting to surpass on Tuesday in Bridgeport.
Temperatures have not reached 100F in Bridgeport, CT since 2011, and it's only happened 5 times since records started in 1948.
FORECAST:
TODAY
Temperatures soar into the 90s by noon time, and it will feel like 100F. Highs in the low to mid 90s for most of Western CT. Near 90 for the sound with a south breeze at 10 mph.
TOMORROW
Temperatures start off near 80F in the morning and will approach 100F in the afternoon. With a wind coming in from the west, even our communities along the sound will reach the mid and upper 90s.
WEDNESDAY
It's still warm, although not as extreme. Highs in the low 90s. A chance for thunderstorms arrives in the evening.
THURSDAY & FRIDAY
Back to normal! Temperatures are in the upper 70s and low 80s with mostly cloudy skies and passing showers.
