Heat and humidity linger Saturday, making way for potential storms

Saturday will be hazy and humid with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible. Some of the storms in the afternoon and evening could be severe with damaging wind gusts and hail.

NOW & NEW: Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Steve Teeling says overnight will be fair early on with some clouds by morning and a shower or storm possible as well. Saturday will be hazy and humid with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible. Some of the storms in the afternoon and evening could be severe with damaging wind gusts and hail.
NEXT: The break in the heat and humidity will occur starting on Sunday. The humidity and heat will be much lower not only for Sunday, but probably through Wednesday. Along with that, it should be mostly sunny and dry.
OVERNIGHT: Hazy and muggy the rest of the night. Chance of a shower or storm by morning. Low of 75.
SATURDAY: Hazy, hot and humid with scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some storms may be strong to severe. Turning less humid late at night. High of 91. Heat index upper-90s.
SUNDAY: Partly sunny, cooler and a lot less humid. High of 81.
MONDAY: Mostly sunny and comfortable. High of 81.
TUESDAY: Mostly sunny. High of 80.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny. High of 82.
