Members of Connecticut's congressional delegation had strong reactions to the NRA's news conference today on the Newtown shooting tragedy.

Rep. Jim Himes said the NRA showed "insensitivity" and what he called a "general weirdness," while Sen. Richard Blumenthal said the NRA declined to step forward as a credible and constructive partner.

NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre told a news conference today that armed guards should be placed in every school in America to deter violence, rather than tightening up gun control laws.

LaPierre also blamed violent movies and video games for tragedies like the Newtown shooting.
