A historic home in Greenwich was consumed by a fire yesterday afternoon.
The home, once known as the Stanwich Inn, was built in 1802.
The homeowner says that because he had no electricity due to the storm, he used a generator-powered heat lamp to keep his 150-pound tortoise warm.
The heat lamp accidentally sparked the blaze, and the tortoise died as a result of the fire.
