Preparations are underway to move a historic home in downtown Westport from its current location.
The Kemper Gunn House will be moved from its current location on Church Lane across the road to Elm Street.
The house sits on land purchased by a developer to build Bedford Square, a retail and residence space. Many in town rejected the original plan to demolish the nearly 138-year-old house. It is now being moved to land owned by the town.
At its new location, the Kemper Gunn House will be converted into office and retail space rented to small businesses at a discounted rate.
