Commuters who take the PATH train from the Hoboken terminal will be offered discounted ferry tickets and service on NJ Transit trains due to ongoing repairs that will be taking place this week.
The switch issues at the Hoboken station and work to repair those issues have resulted in some delays for riders. Normally, rush service from Hoboken to/from 33rd and to/from WTC is every 8 minutes. Currently, it’s every 10 minutes while crews work on the switch issue, Port Authority said.
"Trains are running every 10 minutes during rush hour due to ongoing switch issues. We know this is frustrating, and we're sorry for the inconvenience," PATH posted on X Monday afternoon.
To accommodate riders, PATH is offering multiple options:
  • NJ Transit will cross-honor rail customers at Hoboken, Secaucus and NY Penn Station. The NJ Transit cross-honoring options will end at 11:59 p.m. Friday.
  • NJ Transit Hudson Bergen Light Rail will also cross-honor PATH customers at Newport, Exchange Place and Hoboken.
  • NY Waterway will offer PATH customers $3 discounted tickets for ferry service between the Hoboken and NJT Terminal-Brookfield Place from 6-10 a.m. and 3-7 p.m. As well as service between the Hoboken and NJT Terminal-Midtown/W 39th Street from 6:55-9:35 a.m. and 4:18-7:30 p.m. The New York Waterway ferry discount ends at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
Riders must show their valid PATH fare payment card or virtual cross-honoring pass on the RidePATH app in order to take advantage of the discounted fare. Tickets can also be purchased in the NY Waterway app.
For commuters taking the Hoboken-World Trade Center line, PATH will continue running 10-minute service during rush hours this week.
