Holiday musical about ballroom dancing set to open Saturday in Norwalk

A new holiday musical is set to debut this weekend in Norwalk.

"Magic: A Ballroom Musical,” written by Dr. James Gadzik, is about what happens when two lonely people get ballroom lessons as a Christmas gift from "an intriguing dance instructor on one enchanted holiday weekend."

"Why should people see something like this?” said Gadzik. “Well, it's uplifting. It's a wonderful segue into the Christmas and holiday season."

Gadzik told News 12 that after he spent decades as a trauma surgeon at Norwalk Hospital, writing a musical was something he always wanted to do as a stress reliever.

The musical opens Saturday at the Wall Street Theater.
