Many older Bronx dwellers are moving in with roommates thanks to a free program in the borough that matches seniors in search of extra company.
People with extra rooms are linked with compatible guests who pay rent that ranges from $500 to $700 a month. Workers at the home sharing program screen and interview possible roommates, while utilizing a program called "Quickmatch" to aid in establishing compatibility.
While the home sharing program has existed for more than two decades, it's drawing more attention due to the harsh economic climate that exists today.
