A Bridgeport couple and their two young children are finally getting a place to call their own.
Humbetro Torres, Frances Doval and their kids moved into their new apartment on Stratford Avenue Sunday after being homeless for the past nine months.
They say the apartment was made possible by an outreach service for the homeless called the HOT Team.
The family says they are grateful for their new home, but it lacks many of the essentials including furniture, heat and hot water.
HOT Team official Zulika Oliver-Maloney says the family urgently needs donations from the public to make their new apartment a real home.
The couple says they would be grateful for the simplest of things, like kitchen utensils and bathroom items.
The HOT Team is accepting donations on behalf of the family.
Torres and Doval say regardless, they are extremely grateful for their new apartment and they still plan to enjoy the holiday season.
