Some schools will already close early Thursday due to the stifling heat across Western Connecticut.
Seven schools in western Connecticut also closed early Wednesday due to the intense heat.
Students at Jonathan Law High School were dismissed around noon. Some of those students told News 12 that non-air conditioned classrooms were at least 80 degrees inside.
"It's very humid in there--so it's kind of hard to focus on the work and stuff," said Ryan Mason, a Jonathan Law High School student.
In places like Milford, there was no after-school care and no sports practice.
While some are waiting for this heat spell to be over, others say they have no problem with the current conditions.
"I'm planning to go out and enjoy the rest of the day," said Carmen Gonzalez of Milford. "I love this kind of weather."
The early dismissals caused an inconvenience for parents and students. They just went back to school this week and tell News 12 they have barely gotten any classroom time in.
