Hundreds of people gathered to take part in a walk that brings awareness to addiction recovery.
The walk kicked off at Seaside Park and involved agencies that foster various dimensions of Wellness and Recovery.
Organizers say the walk is intended to build awareness, break down stereotypes and support those in recovery.
The Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services teamed up with a group of local nonprofits to promote the walk.
Some who attended the walk say their futures are now brighter thanks to a strong personal determination and a support system focused on getting sober and staying sober.
