More than 800 March For Our Lives events focusing on gun reform were held across the nation Saturday, including thousands of protesters who showed up in Stamford’s Mill River Park.
Students at the protest said they will continue to use their national platform to inspire gun reform and safer schools in the wake of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida.
"We're the next generation and we're the next policy makers and the voters, so it's really exciting to me,” said Emma Hart, of Stamford. “I have a lot of hope and think that things can actually turn around."
The event included musical performances and speeches from students and community leaders.
