There was a lot of excitement on the streets of Downtown Stamford Sunday as spectators enjoyed the marching bands, tiny cars and other spectacles that define the annual Stamford Veterans Day parade.

The parade stepped off from Bedford Street outside the Stamford Police Station and wound through downtown, with veteran ceremonies taking place at the end at the route.

"It was amazing to see so much happiness and excitement here," said Susan Carnes, who brought her dad and aunt. "They had so much fun -- and so did I."
