Some southwestern Connecticut residents are concerned about their families in countries bracing for Hurricane Matthew.
The storm is expected to hit areas of Haiti, Jamaica and Cuba.
Angelucci Manigat, publisher of the Haitian Voice in Bridgeport, says his family lives in areas where the hurricane is expected to have a big impact. He says he has been in contact with his family in Haiti and with Haitian leaders. He says officials in that area have much to be concerned about, including a lack of resources, shelter and food.
Heavy winds, flooding and mudslides could cause major problems in the storm's path.
