The mother of 37-year-old Noel McIntosh says her son was a hard-working father who was shot multiple times on June 10.
Police say it happened on the 100-block of Pricilla Circle.
While investigators are offering few details, McIntosh’s mother, who asked to remain anonymous, said she believes her son was targeted.
"There was a fight -- with him and the guy,” the mother said. "And the guy jumped him."
She says she'll never forget a doctor at Bridgeport Hospital giving her words of reassurance as her son headed into surgery.
"’He's not dead. We have the best equipment, we have everything. We are working on him,’" the doctor told her.
But a few hours later, she got the news every parent dreads. Her son could not be saved.
McIntosh’s mother said he was a central figure in her life.
"Even the shirt on his back, he will give you anything. He's a people person," she said.
Losing him, she said, has taken a devastating personal and physical toll.
"I get dizzy, I black out and I keep falling," said the mother.
As police look for answers, this mom says she will push for whoever killed her to pay for that crime.
“I need justice for my son,” McIntosh’s mother said. "I've been praying every day, nonstop. I need justice."
