The increasing price of gas is forcing some southwestern Connecticut business owners to raise their rates.Gas prices are pushing $3 a gallon and businesses that use a lot of gas, like Teddy's Limousine in Norwalk, are forced to compensate. The base rate for a limo ride from Norwalk to LaGuardia has been about $113 plus tolls in recent years. To make up for the increasing cost of gas, however, Teddy's Limousine, like many other companies, is adding a fuel surcharge.Edible Arrangements in Norwalk gets about 20 orders a day. The delivery charge has been $10 for the last year. But now the company is forced to bundle more orders each time the delivery truck heads out. The store's management says many of its suppliers are charging fuel surcharges and that's costing it hundreds of dollars a week. Related story
