Independent film 'The Port' set to begin production in Bridgeport

A local filmmaker is set to begin production on an independent movie set in Bridgeport.
Joel Roman says "The Port," which is inspired by true events, is about a group of friends who have to make a crucial decision whether to stay in their safe, but boring lives, or, to risk everything for a shot at real happiness.
"It will challenge your mind, there's inspirational messages in the dialogue in the characters. You will see yourself living through these characters in 'The Port,'" said Roman.
Roman says he raised the money the make the film through a crowd-funding website based in Los Angeles.
"The Port" is on track to be released next year.
