Something magical is brewing in Fairfield this week, and you don't have to go to a land far, far away to experience it.
The Junior League of Eastern Fairfield County has transformed a historic building into a fairytale wonderland.
"It's a really immersive experience," President Grace Calderon says. "You really feel like you've escaped Fairfield, and you are inside your favorite fairytale."
The enchanted castle (

"'The Jungle Book,' 'Aladdin,' 'Little Mermaid,'" chairperson Tiara Simons says. "We hope that we can really bring the community together for something fun, something special and really just give back."
Organizers say all the proceeds from the weeklong event will go to the Junior League of Fairfield County to support literacy and neighborhood efforts within the greater Bridgeport community.
"We definitely make a difference," Calderon says. "We make a difference in a child who might receive a book that they wouldn't otherwise have, or a family that doesn't go hungry for one more night because we've prepared dinner for them."
The enchanted castle runs through this Sunday.
