A man is thanking his lucky stars that he made it through Saturday's tumultuous storm alive.
Winds reached gusts of nearly 50 mph, toppling trees throughout the state. In the case of one tree's collapse, witnesses say seconds may have saved one man from tragedy.
A falling tree on Strickland Road hit his car while he was driving down the street. Though all of his tires were flattened and the car itself was damaged, the man was able to walk away unscathed.
"He was the luckiest person on earth," said one witness. "Another second ? it would have hit his roof."
The tree that came crashing down first hit power lines, knocking energy out for the entire block.
