Some believe inversion therapy is making a comeback after its heyday decades ago.
Touted as alternative medicine, some experts say hanging upside down can treat anything from back pain to depression by stimulating the nervous system.
While some believe in the healing powers of hanging upside down, others do not. Dr. Edwin Richter, of Stamford Hospital, said there is no concrete evidence that shows the technique can help people medically.
"There are some potential health hazards with this,? he said. Richter said it may be dangerous for people with glaucoma, cardiac diseases or hypertensive diseases. He said the technique should not be tried before getting a doctor?s opinion.
Some still say inversion therapy not only heals, but quite literally gives people a new view on life.
