Results of an investigation led by state Sen. Jeff Klein reveals some children's toys may contain deadly toxins.
The investigation by Klein, the New York League of Conservation Voters and Clean and Healthy New York claims lead and cadmium could be found in toys such as Hello Kitty jewelry.
The report also claims high levels of cobalt in Gerber baby clothing. The products were sold at stores such as Claire's, Burlington and various 99 cent stores.
Currently, the sale of the products has not been banned, but the legislation Sen. Klein supports rules that would try to have the manufacturers indicate their products contain dangerous chemicals and ban their use.
