Friends and family were forced to celebrate the 19th birthday of a Bridgeport teenager shot to death without him.
Eugene Stinson, 18, was fatally shot in the head Monday and was found in a car that crashed on Fairfield Avenue. His mother tells News 12 that celebrating his birthday without him was the most painful experience of her life.
Family friends say that Stinson loved basketball and music, and was deeply devoted to his family.
"He never even got to experience college, getting married, having kids. It hurts," says April Barron, a spokesperson for the family.
A makeshift memorial was placed in the area where Stinson died.
Police say the shooting is still under investigation. Stinson's slaying was among five shootings in Bridgeport between Monday night and Tuesday morning.
In another shooting, a 52-year-old man was also killed. About six hours after Stinson's death, another teenager was also shot inside his car in the same area.
Police say the two incidents are not related.
