Friends and family of a Fairfield Preparatory School student who was fatally stabbed in Shelton last year are coming together for a benefit concert to honor his life.

The first annual 'Jim Jam' benefit concert for Jimmy McGrath will be held Saturday.

The event will be a time to honor the life of Jimmy McGrath with a benefit concert performed by friends and local musicians.

McGrath, 17, was killed in a stabbing at a house party in May 2022.

McGrath's parents say in addtition to 'Jim Jam' they will also launch the Jimmy McGrath Foundation.

They say the foundation will help the family and community heal as they address challenges the town faces.

The McGraths also plan to support mental health, youth sports, first responders, and provide scholarship opportunities.
