The students of Norwalk Community College were given the chance to sound off Thursday about the upcoming presidential election followed by a mock election of their own.
An American government class hosted the open podium event where anything having to do with politics or the election was a fair topic. Students were able to cover a wide variety of topics such as the oil crisis, foreign relations with Russia, informed voters vs. uninformed voters and the backgrounds of the presidential candidates.
When the unofficial ballot was tallied, Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) was the overwhelming winner over Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), 60-12.
