With the stars of the hit reality show "Jon and Kate Plus 8" splitting up, child health experts say children could start asking questions about divorce.
Dr. Lawrence Shapiro, a child psychologist in Norwalk, says parents need to be straightforward and honest with their kids. "If you talk to children and are open, then I think they can understand," he says.
Shapiro also says it's important for young kids to know that just because a couple fights, it doesn't mean they're getting a divorce.
As for Jon and Kate, their television show is on hiatus. A spokesman for TLC says there won't be any new episodes until August.
