A judge has approved the $5 million legal settlement for former Stone Academy nursing school students.
The school abruptly shut down in February 2023, impacting nearly 1,000 nursing students.
State officials accused Stone Academy and its officials of having unqualified professors, overcrowded classes and not proving enough clinical hours.
According to the settlement, $150,000 will be set aside to help students prepare for nursing exams.
That money will be sent out to former students in a few weeks.
Once the school closed, many students were unable to complete their studies because their credits did not transfer to other schools.
