Jury deliberations will continue Wednesday in the trial of the three men charged with killing Ahmaud Arbery, after a long deliberation Tuesday.
The mostly white jury deliberated for about six hours Tuesday before adjourning.
On Feb. 23, 2020, Ahmaud Marquez Arbery, an unarmed 25-year-old Black man, was fatally shot in Satilla Shores, Georgia.
Prosecutors say the three white men facing charges – Greg McMichael, Travis McMichael, and their neighbor William Bryan — have no right to claim self-defense because they were the ones who first approached Arbery while he was jogging.
Defense attorneys argue that the McMichaels were attempting a legal citizen's arrest.
News 12 will continue to provide updates on the case.
