Jury deliberation continues today in the case of a New Canaan man accused of trying to beat his wife to death.

The defendant, former White House Attorney John Michael Farren, appeared in the courtroom for the first time yesterday. Farren chose not to be present for any of the testimony and protested the two attorneys appointed to represent him.
Yesterday, the jury asked to hear testimony again from Mary Margaret Farren, who says her husband tried to strangle and beat her with a flashlight in 2010.
When the jury asked to hear from her, Farren walked out of the courtroom.
