A Bridgeport man thanked News 12 Connecticut after a story led to a $7,000 donation.
News 12 first told viewers about 60-year-old Frank Reese after he got a new kidney and needed follow-up surgery, but it was delayed due to the pandemic.
Reese couldn't work during that time and fell behind on his rent.
Joe Kaliko, at the Needs Clearing House, saw the story about Reese's hardship and wrote a check covering his rent through Oct. 1.
Kaliko thanked "The Robert Morris Family Trust" for making the $7,000 gift possible.
Reese also thanked Dr. James Roach and St. Vincent's Medical for his successful transplant surgery.
