A possible strike could leave hundreds of elderly patients at the Kingsbridge Heights Rehabilitation Center without nurses.
Caregivers at the rehabilitation center say they?re ready to strike Wednesday if they don?t get a fair contract. The workers, who are members of the Services Employees International Union, say they?ve been working without a contract for seven years.
Workers also say that the center has cut off health benefits payments, leaving 200 employees without insurance.
The attorney representing the rehabilitation center says the union is responsible for cutting off employee benefits.
