There are growing calls for Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to step down followed her handling of recent shootings in Minnesota.

Gov. Ned Lamont and Lt. Gov Susan Bysiewicz were among those speaking out.

Lamont posted on X that "Kristi Noem needs to go," adding that the administration created a culture in ICE that allowed civil rights violations.

A new report to Congress from the Department of Homeland Security said two officers fired their guns during their fatal encounter with Alex Pretti in Minneapolis over the weekend.

The report said that during Customs and Border Protection's attempt to take Pretti into custody, a struggle occurred and an officer yelled "he got a gun" multiple times before two officers fired their weapons.

Agents also claimed to have provided medical aid to Pretti.
