There was a large police presence in the area of Foster Square and East Main Street on Bridgeport's Upper East Side Monday night.

It is the same area where a person was seriously injured after being shot Saturday night.

Witnesses say they called police after hearing what they said sound like gunshots around 7:15 p.m.

City officials say there was an argument outside at the intersection of East Main and Edna streets and gunshots were fired.

Police were also seen searching the neighborhood with K-9s.
