The man who police say stole a Rolex from the Stamford Town Center has been arrested.
The incident happened last month at the Sidney Thomas Jewelry Store.
Officers say Larry Johnson asked to see a $37,000 watch. He allegedly grabbed the watch, jumped out of his wheelchair, pepper-sprayed workers and ran off with the stolen timepiece. They say fingerprints left behind on the wheelchair helped them identify Johnson as the man behind the crime.
News 12 has learned that Johnson apparently has an extensive arrest history in New York.
New Rochelle police say they tracked down Johnson in New York and arrested him on Friday. They say he faced charges Tuesday for providing them with a false name, and will be sent to Connecticut to face charges connected with the robbery.
