NYPD and federal partners remain on high alert across the city after a suspicious package was found days following a terrorist attack.

On Tuesday, the NYPD evacuated the park around Gracie Mansion after they found a suspicious package. The package was not deemed a threat.

News 12 spoke with law enforcement analyst Rich Esposito. He said the city and federal partners are not taking any threats lightly.

"NYPD, FBI, Port Authority police, Coast Guard, Navy Seals, people from the Pentagon. It's a full integrated team from many agencies, all working to a common goal. It's a beautiful thing to see it in action because, it's really a cooperative venture with one goal, which is keeping us safe," said Esposito.

As the city remains on high alert, Esposito is urging New Yorkers to do the same.

"Keep your head on a swivel, is what cops would say," he said.

As the city navigates high tensions, Esposito said New Yorkers should not live in fear.

"So now we've got a new threat from ISIS. We had Al-Qaeda twice, World Trade Center in 2001, World Trade Center in 1993. Should you be afraid? No. You should be a New Yorker. You should be afraid of nothing," he said.

Law enforcement is encouraging the phrase, "if you see something, say something."
