City and religious leaders called for unity Sunday after two NYPD officers were fatally shot in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

A special tribute was held at the site of where officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu were killed Saturday.

A gunman ambushed the two officers as they sat in a patrol car, fatally shooting both of them before he turned the gun on himself in a nearby subway station, authorities say.

"We're here really to just show how angry we are that two innocent lives were lost, how much in pain we are," said Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams. "We are going to turn that pain into purpose. We're not going to allow the lives of these two fallen heroes to go in vain."

Adams went on to say that people can honor the fallen officers by appreciating the men and women who wear the NYPD uniform and by coming together as one community, one borough and one city.
