Members of the Rowayton United Methodist Church served lemonade during Sunday's Memorial Day parade to raise money for cancer treatments.
The charity, which is called Alex's Lemonade in honor of 8-year-old Alex Scott from Manchester, who lost her battle to cancer in 2004, raises funds for children with cancer. Church members say Alex's unique way of raising money inspired them to host lemonade stands and donate the money to help pay for cancer treatments for sick children around the globe.
Patrick Aylward, 16, says the lemonade stand volunteers have raised money that helps him fight leukemia.
"It makes the process of getting better so much easier," Aylward says.
